I spent spring in Prague and could enjoy its rich cultural life. In April, I was most pleased with the party in the studio of Jan Brabenec in the Old Town, where we had celebrated the birthday of his friend Jaroslav Krček, composer and conductor of Musica Viva and Musica Bohemica. In addition to the music by Musica Viva, I was finally able to inspect thoroughly Jan's paintings and other artifacts painted on the leather. The public exhibition of these paintings together with metal objects by Vítězslav Stoklasa (called Substance of Metal, Soul of Leather) takes place in the St. Martin Church in the Wall in Prague 1, but you need to hurry, only until 10th June. Jan Brabenec is a versatile personality converging cultures of the Czechlands and Austria and I am happy that I can count him and his partner Alena to my friends.
